Few and Far Between

I know my posts have been "few and far between" lately. We, like all of you, have been busy, busy, busy. We celebrated all three of our boys birthdays in the fall (Bennett, Carson, and Davis). That along with the starting of a new preschool year, Halloween, Thanksgiving, BYU season tickets, four nights a week at the soccer field, and deciding to repaint our front room and kitchen have put a damper on my blogging time. I know it is December, so the Halloween pics may seem out of place, but here's what we've been up to the past couple of months.

Bennett turned 9 in September. I FEEL SO OLD! We decided to bypass the big neighborhood party this year and took the family to Lagoon. It was really fun other than the fact that Bennett's favorite ride was the wild mouse and I, who used to be able to jump off one ride and right on to the next, spent most of the day wanting to throw up.

Birthday Donuts?

I LOVED this ride as a kid, however, I couldn't force myself to go on it after the Spider, Wild Mouse, and several other Roller Coasters. My kids had as much fun on the ride as I remember. I loved watching them giggle hysterically as they tried not to squish each other. Fun Times!

Carson, Davis, and Adi ready for take off. Davis LOVED Lagoon and would have gone on ANY ride I would have let him go on. We did take him on the new "kids" music train. There is no age limit for that ride, and he loved it, but half-way through I started to worry about his future brain function. In my opinion, that ride should be for at least 4 years and up. It's too fast for the tiny guys.

Carson turned 7 in November. It is so crazy to me that he is almost old enough to be baptized. He has always been the "little" brother and here he is growing up! He wanted to go to Chuck-e-Cheese for his big day. The swin flu tends to make me germaphobic, so we got there right as they opened, ate pizza at 10 am, and then left before the lunch crowd hit. There were no crowds that early and it was so much more fun that way.
Seven-year-old HEAVEN!
After Chuck-e-Cheese we went to Grandpa Williams' house to watch the BYU game and have birthday cake. We watch all the away BYU games at my dad's and LOVE it! I'm sure he loves it too as the children draw on his walls with maker and spill pop on the cream colored carpet. SORRY DAD!
We rented this movie, Forever Strong, and Carson loved it (no surprise, he has always been a sports nut). You can not tell by his face, but he was elated. This is the biggest reaction you ever get from Carson while opening gifts. He is silly that way. Once home for the day the kids had a sleep in the TV room movie night! Davis didn't last long after a fun filled day.

Our last fall birthday was for Davis. His birthday is 6 days after Carson's--what were we thinking? He turned two this year and since he had ear tubes on his first birthday, we did a fun family party for him this year to make up for the lack of a birthday party last year.
Gotta love the football cake! Since making Davis wear a bib is a wrestling match EVERY time, we just take his shirt off while he eats. The stubborn stinker was ready to dive in to his cake before we got any pictures, and was not going to smile with a shirt on. You choose your battles right?

Presents and treats all for me? WOW! Davis really loved opening his presents and was so sweet as he tried not to ruin the wrapping paper.

We love our cousins. Jennifer (my sister) and I had Adi and Logan just a few weeks apart and then two years later had Andrew and Davis six weeks apart. It has been so fun having cousins so close in age and they are all such great friends...most of the time!

HALLOWEEN is always a fun time at the Simms home. My boys always insist on being something gross and disgusting and this year I decided to quit fighting it and let them have their fun. They're only young once right?

My cute little pumpkin!

Beauty and the Beasts! Thomas was more excited for Halloween than the kids this year. He wore stilts under a long black cloak and then wore a skeleton mask. This is my public apology to all the neighbors and their crying children who were frightened by the ginormous scary man roaming the neighborhood.

Cousins Adi and Avree. My sister Kathleen came into town the week before Halloween. We had a fun costume party at my mom's house complete with witches brew, trick-or-treat buckets filled with goodies, and four little cousins all dressed up as batman and ready to save Gotham City. Good times.

Well that sums up our past couple months. It is hard to believe the first week of December is almost gone! Christmas will be here before we know it. I promise pictures of my newly painted living room and updated decor soon!
