In the middle of the night that same night, I woke up to find Davis standing next to my bed. At this point he was still sleeping in a crib. He hadn't ever gotten out of his crib before and I was surprised I hadn't heard him cry when he fell out. As I carried him back to bed, I noticed that almost every light in the house was on. I quickly checked on the other kids and found them all soundly sleeping in their beds. HOWEVER, as I passed the kitchen, I noticed several cans of soup on the kitchen floor.
My stubborn one-year-old stinker pot had successfully escaped from his crib, without waking anyone up, gone into the pantry by pulling over a kitchen stool, taken out the Walmart soup, and attempted to open it on the kitchen floor by popping the pull tab on the top of each can. SERIOUSLY????? I can just see the wheels in his little head, "I'll show her, I'll wait until she goes to sleep and then get that soup myself!"
This is the next morning around 9:00 am when Davis crashed on the couch due to lack of sleep. Who knows how long he was awake wandering the house. His one night of freedom apparently felt great, because he repeated the adventure so many times, that we finally moved him into a bed and now make him sleep behind a locked door. Why are children so stubborn...and smart...and mischievious?
Davis did not like his bed at first.
I won't sleep in this bed. I won't! I won't! I won't!

That is so funny - but the funniest part to me is that is was SOUP and not cookies or fruit snacks or something actually tempting.
Wow, What a little thinker! It's amazing that he thought of it and carried it out all by himself. Can you really believe how smart kids are sometimes!!!
How cute and sweet. The can situation is so Jack. He will do what ever it takes to get what he wants.
