Texas Trip

Thomas, Davis, my mom, Jennifer, and Craig, all went to Texas to visit Kathleen over new year's. She blessed her baby, Avree, while we were there, and we had such a fun trip! Here are a few of the highlights (and lowlights of the trip).

Highlight #1: The really drunk guy on the airplane that entertained Davis the entire flight and made the flight attendant laugh as she gave her announcement over the speaker. I have to admit at one point between wrestling a one-year-old, turbulence that made it feel like your life was ending, and feeling very squeamish, I almost asked for his drink.

Highlight #2: Miles and miles of shopping at Canton, which is a huge flea market where you can buy everything imaginable at really great prices. It was fun to see all the different things for sale and to see people from all over the world. My favorite thing about Canton, was the bathrooms where the stall doors were shower cutians and the stall walls were so short that you could see your nieghbor. We're not in Kansas anymore Todo.

Highlight #3: The night in Frisco where the girls went out without any babies. We ate at the Cheesecake Facotry which was delicious of course. We also learned that mountians and snow are good for one thing, water that does not taste like dirt. After dinner, we went to see Twilight, which I had not seen before. I loved it! My mom hasn't read the books so we spent the rest of the night telling her all about them.

Highlight #4: Our awesome hotel which Perri found for us at a great discount. The discount on the hotel was so great in fact, that the hotel management decided our "free" breakfast should not be free and should cost $10 dollars a plate. We couldn't complain too much because the pancakes, eggs, and fruit were heavenly.

Highlight #5: The weather was in the high 70's the first couple of days. Although it was too cold to swim in the outdoor pool, we were able to hot tub without freezing as we walked back into the hotel. Thomas did get to test out the freezing waters since he dropped an unopened can of coke into the pool and fearing a $7-$10 dollar fee, jumped into the pool to remove it. By the end of our trip Texas had freezing rain which was great preparation for the box of exploded coke that waited for us in our van at long term parking.

Here are a few pictures of our adventures. Little Avree was so adorable. I miss her already!!!
Just before taking this picture Jennifer told me I needed to adjust my face. Oh the honesty of sisters. (: She actually meant I needed to not tilt my head, but it was really funny.
Davis and Thomas watching out the plane window. I'm not sure who enjoyed this more. I guess it's a guy thing?
This was part of Canton, the flea market. It was a shopping paradise!!! Too bad I didn't realize how crappy my stroller looks. I seriously need a new one.
Breakfast in bed. Maid service. Hot tub. Laundry service. Maybe we should live in a hotel.

This was a really fun mall with an iceskating rink in the middle. While at this mall Thomas actually let one of those kiosk salesmen talk HIM into a manicure. Thank goodness he didn't let the salesmen talk him into the 60$ lotion and nail buffer. I wish I had a picture of him getting his nails polished, but I was too busy laughing. A few days before we came to this mall, a Twilight look alike pretended to be Edward's actor (whose name escapes me at this moment), and caused a big ruckus. Those crazy Twilight fans.

Where did your other kids stay?

I want to live in a hotel too, but only if it comes with a nanny. :-)

I wish I could've seen Thomas getting his pedicure.
