Family Fun!

Over Pioneer day we took a little family trip. First, we went to Bear Lake with a group from our neighborhood. The next day we drove through Soda Springs and up to Twin Falls, Idaho, for a family reunion. We really had a fun time. It was great to get away!
This is the whole group going for a spin while Amy sits in the boat holding the baby in one arm and grabbing onto the seat for dear life with the other. I HATE BOATS!!!!!! Thomas and Bennett had so much fun tubing. At one point I sat in the boat and watched as they jumped back and forth from tube to tube. We weren't driving too fast at the point but still!
Carson is like his mom and does not care much for boats. He got bored on the beach and decided to try the boat. He ended up riding on the tubes as well and was so happy with himelf for being so brave!

Adi loved playing on the beach while the boys went tubing. I love having a daughter.
Davis was not a fan of the boat either and cried almost every second he was on it. He fell asleep as we were coming into shore. I think he mostly hated the life jacket. Poor baby.
Oh Bennett. All tuckered out from his tubing stunts and tricks, Bennett decided to nap on the sand. To be young and carefree again.
This picture (below) is at a place called Dirkies Lake. It is in Twin Falls and is part of the Snake River. I used to go there every summer growing up and it was fun to revisit my youth with my kids. They are jumping off the dock into the water. You can kind of see Thomas' orange shirt which he had to wear because he was fried from Bear Lake. OUCH!

This is the gyser in Soda Springs. My kids LOVED it. It goes off once an hour and sprays for about five minutes. It was fun to see.
This is a natural carbonated spring that is also in Soda Springs. You can see it bubbling out of the ground to the right of Thomas' feet. It is safe to drink (if you dare). When I first saw it there was no way I was letting any children drink it.
Thomas had been talking it up the whole drive so I lost the battle and we let each of the kids fill up a water bottle, add some crystal light flavoring, and make their own pop. It really did taste just like pop too. The good news is we are all alive to tell the tale and no one got sick from any springs or lakes this time around!

What a fun family trip! I've never been to/drunk from Soda Springs, but maybe I should add it to my list of things to do before I die.

I'm jealous of Bennett's tubing. I haven't been on a tube in ages, and I'm kind of jonesing for it right now! (But truly, I jones for a lot of stuff these days. When you're in your 3rd trimester of pregnancy, there's a lot of stuff you crave or wish you could do!)

It looks like you guys had a lot of fun. I can't believe you don't like boats! Are you crazy or somethin'?

Looks like fun! I never knew you hated boats. We've never seen the geyser in Soda Springs, although we drive through there every year on our way to Jackson.

I had a great time last night! Thanks for coming! We really need to do that more often!
Christy and Jodi and I talked about going to see Mamma Mia again maybe this time during the week, when it's not so crazy.
Let me know if you're in!
