Pioneer Day!

We always try to do something fun with the kids over pioneer day weekend. This year we started off by meeting up with my brother Brad and going to the Rock Loft in Salt Lake. They have a large climbing wall there with big foam pads underneath, so there is no need for a harness. My boys (Thomas included) LOVED IT!!!!
You can kind of see how the wall angles out making it a harder climb. The colored marks were to tell you how hard the climb was, and you were supposed to follow one color all the way up the wall.
Carson making his way to the top.
Adi wishing she could do that! Maybe someday. That's what I tell myself too, but I know it is VERY wishful thinking.

The next day we drove to Idaho to visit my Grandma. She lives in Jerome, so we got dinner and went to Twin Falls to have a picnic and see the Shoshone Falls.

Getting out all of that energy after being in the car for so long!

We came here every summer growing up. Sometimes there is more water than others, so I was excited to see it so full. It is so fun to hear it roar and see all the spray of the water.
My dad can remember his dad climbing out onto this rock to watch the falls. Maybe my boys get some of there dare devilness from the Williams side of the family after all!
You can see the rock my grandpa climbed on just beyond the railing behind Thomas.
The Williams gang-- Me wearing Uncle Jason's hat, my dad, Grandma Fae, and Sister Jennifer. Love you guys!

Saturday we went swimming with my cousin Misty and her daughter Aspen at a place called Banbury's. It is a pool right off the Snake River where they found a hot spring and heat the pool with it. Sometimes the water is almost too warm for a hot summer day but it felt perfect this time.
I need these rules at my house, except I think spitting would head strait to the top, even over smoking.
The famous log and slide that are so fun and the best way to wear out kids in the world!

After swimming, we went to the Jerome Stake Pioneer Day Celebration. I was blown away by this stake activity. It was amazing! My cousin Brian and his wife Megan helped out and did an amazing job. They had a 5K in the morning, which Thomas and I ran. Then they had games, dinner, and even country dancing and singing that evening. We had a blast!
Proof that the person who weighs the most does not always win this game.

Thomas took first place in the men for the 5K. They gave out awards, and as he walked up to get his, my cousin Brian announced that although he took first place for the men, he was beaten by a woman and two kids. Thanks for the laugh Brian!

omg...I've totally been to Banbury's! When I went though, they had a row of logs that went from one side of the pool to the other, not just the one in the middle. How random! My grandma and grandpa took us there one year. I don't quite remember why though, cause they live near Boise! Good times. :)

That ooks so fun! So where abouts in Idaho is Banburys? We go to a similar place in ID called Heise hot springs and I'm wondering if it's close. Looks like you guys had fun! Good job for Thomas winning the 5k!
