So you've had a bad day...

Today was one of those days that was bad before it even started. All four of my children were crying at 3:00 a.m. The baby cried all night for some unknown reason, waking up Carson. Bennett woke up dying of thirst and drank so much water he got a stomach ache. After laying next to the bathroom for awhile, he decided to go into his sister's room and steal the pillow from under her sleeping head. She woke up, of course, and started crying in protest.

Four tired children crying in unison at 3:00 a.m. screams, "TODAY IS GOING TO SUCK!!!!!"

And it did.

Through the delirium, we did have one moment of laughter when after sweeping the kitchen for the second time, I decided to make the kids eat lunch outside. We called it a picnic to try and make it more enticing. It worked at first until Adi came back into the house claiming that she could not eat her PB and honey sandwich outside. Carson, being the kind and loving tease that he is, thought it would be fun to inform her that the bee flying around them was trying to take back its honey.

Sigh. Thanks to Carson and several quotes from the Bee Movie, Adi ate lunch at the kitchen counter.

Nine hours later I have not swept up the bread crumbs or fallen chips, and I am going to bed. My children were warned not to enter my room unless the house was on fire or someone was bleeding profusely--bloody noses do not count, handle them yourself. Sleep tight!

ps. I will not be at aerobics in the morning.

Oh Amy! I am sorry that you had such a rough day - thank heavens that Tuesday is already over, right? I know when I don't get enough sleep, I am not a pleasant mom (or wife)... Hope today is going better than yesterday!

Sorry you had such a lousy day, and that I didn't comment to tell you so until 3 days later. i hope it got better. I'm having one of those days today. which is why my house is a disaster and I'm vegging out in front of the computer.
