Surprise!

I have learned that when my children (or husband) tell me they have a surprise, it is very rarely a good thing. Like the time the boys were off track, and surprised me with breakfast in bed. They decided to make honey butter for my toast and the kitchen was COVERED in honey. Then there was the time I was mowing the lawn and Adi surprised me with a big glass of lemonade, which she had made herself...on the floor of the front entry way. And let's not forget about those dang Easter chickens that Thomas surprised me with.

Well today I was happily making dinner, and Thomas came into the kitchen asking me to come outside and see something. I wanted to know what and he said, "It's a surprise". RED FLAG.

This BAT has decided to live in the eave of our house just above our front door. Thomas shewed it away with the broom handle which it bit for awhile before flying off. Apparently bats do not like to be woken up any more than the rest of us. I really hope it does not come back.

Gross. Gross. Gross.

One time when we lived in Texas we came home from church to find a dead (or barely living? not sure.) bat on the fourth stair up to the second floor. We were lucky we lived next door to an exterminator.

Yikes! I can't believe that! I had a bat that was trapped in my grandma's house fly at my head once...traumatic experience!

I know this is old but if you still have your bat friend you can call animal control. They will happily come to get it and take it away. We used to get them all the time inside Target.
