Hello Again!

Our house is slowly getting put back together. We have been so busy, but are starting to see a light at the end of the tunnel. Painting is mostly done (we had to resheetrock several walls), all floor boards and entry tiles have been replaced, and new carpet has been ordered. We are hoping to have carpet in about ten days, right after we install a sump-pump and redo the landscape of the backyard to prevent further problems. Although this whole thing has been a nightmare, I am excited that the five baby pounds left over from Davis are finally gone! This is shocking considering the massive amounts of chocolate, coke, and ice cream that I have consumed lately. Hey, it was either comfort foods, or the looney bin.

In order to get all the work done with four crazy children around, I have been staying up late and getting up early. One day, I set my alarm to get up early and paint. I went to put my contacts in, and quickly realized that one of my children had put hairspray in my contact case. Ouch. They also covered my toothbrush with it. The very next day I got up early to go pick out carpet. As I got in my van I found that some special someone thought it would be fun to fill the cup holder in my van with dog poop. Seriously. I am not getting up early any more and I will start locking my van doors everytime I am not in it!!!

On a happier note, school has started and we are all falling back into our school routine. I started preschool a week after the flood, thanks to a kind neighbor who opened up her basement rental to me. It has worked out well but I look forward to moving everything home, and being back to normal SOON!

******************All lined up and ready to go to school! Bennett started 2nd grade, Carson is in Kindergarten, and Adi goes to preschool two days a week. Oh ya, it doesn't get much better than this!
******************Carson was very nervous to start school but LOVES IT! This is the first day where parents get to go and stay the whole time. Lots of fun.
We live in an area where the kids have to walk to school but, thankfully, afternoon kindergarten students are bused. If it wasn't for this bus, I would be crazy. Three round trips to the school each day really interfers with naps and any thing else productive!
******************After school snacks and crazy faces! Did we used to have homework in elementary school? I don't remember it at all. Kids have to grow up too fast these days.
******************I love this picture. Adi is so excited to go to school like her big brothers. I do get a little sad dropping her off and thinking about how she is growing up so fast!

I don't remember doing homework until at least 8th or 9th grade. Plus - doesn't it seem to you like it's more Mom-work than homework?

Congrats on the kindergarten bus!!! The only thing that has saved me from complete hatred of kindergarten is the pick-up carpool we've worked out with 4 moms. What a lifesaver...

You sound busy. Let me know when you're free and we can go to Arctic Circle again. :-)

Are you kidding me?!!!
I can't believe all the crap you've been through (no pun intended)
I would be completely off my rocker, and beyond.
Thanks goodness for school, huh?
I don't know how I ever survived without it.
Naps, I guess.

oh man, you guys are so cute! And I'm so glad you are still alive and sane!!! I've heard homework is bad in schools these days. Our poor kids, hopefully we can keep up with them! I get nervous cause kindergarten is a full day here, so they have like 3 pre k classes to get your kids ready for kindergarten. Lame. Ummm, by the way, Eric surprised me with TCU/BYU tickets, and I am so excited! like 40 people from our ward are all going!

I hope your house is back in order or close to it. Is preschool back yet or still at the neighbors? You have under gone so much! I can totally understand why you have lost weight.
